In the future, not just one but several models are to be produced in a chaotic mix by means of one manufacturing system. Obviously this cannot be realised with standard production lines.

The attached presentation shows a very simple solution, simply bundling model-specific resources into “batteries“ – for instance, clamp batteries.

This way, concepts can be realised on the basis of space-saving arrangements, while resorting to tried and tested serial components such as the toggle clamp or retractable locating pin cylinders. Thus, the wheel is not reinvented but artfully newly composed with “batteries“.
